Born and raised on the rural west end of Catalina Island, I knew I had a message to share, the monumental connection between humans and nature.

Growing up immersed in some of the best that the great outdoors has to offer inspired my unique trajectory as an elite adventure athlete turned health and fitness nerd. My life's purpose is to now share these passions with others to help inspire a happy, healthy, thriving life and how health, nutrition, and mindset go hand in hand with what i believe to be one of our greatest teachers, Nature.

What Is Food To You?

 

What if we rid ourselves of the diet mindset and learned to love food for the nourishment it brings to our lives? Surely zebras don’t count calories and lions don’t go to Weight Watchers. There is no one-size-fits-all diet, no magic pill. What if the answer is simpler than you could have ever thought? What if we peeled back the diet dogma simply to reveal real food. The food of our ancestors. Food provided by nature and food choices made by your own intuition. Whole, unprocessed, unrefined. Food to nourish your mind, body, and soul.

Nature’s Gym

 

 “We are not meant to live in a confined environment. We are not meant to be disconnected from the natural world and our own true nature. Chronic pain, immobility, depression and lack of vitality, these are modern symptoms of the human zoo syndrome. Modern society conditions us to think this is normal and unavoidable. We don’t think so…”

Fitness is a tool that allows us to experience life at a greater level. From climbing mountains, to playing with the grandkids, we need to be fit for all of life’s adventures. As an elite athlete, I have discovered over years and through trial and error, that optimized fitness rests on a foundation of several pillars- strength, endurance, mobility/flexibility, agility, and recovery, as well as the mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of maintaining a strong physical body. And, it turns out, achieving this doesn’t mean countless hours spent at the gym. It means moving your body in a way that feels good to you, movement as a lifestyle. It means learning to honor and respect your incredible physical body and all that it can do, which is far more than you may think it is currently capable of. It means respecting yourself and digging deep to harness your inner power and challenging yourself to be better today than you were the day before.

Let me tell you this…the human body is an incredible piece of machinery. Intricately designed to function and thrive. The heart knows how to beat, the lungs know how to breath. We all posses the potential to not only look good naked, but to achieve optimal health, wellness, and happiness. You are already a masterpiece! And you were born to thrive.

Who Is Nat?

 

Thats me, Natalie! Im a self described health, fitness, and adventure nerd who feels most alive when summiting mountains in the dark, doing cold plunges into the winter waters, swimming and running across my island home, lifting heavy things and climbing trees!

I was born and raised and spent nearly my entire life living on the rural and rugged west end of Santa Catalina Island, 22 miles off the coast of Southern California. So close to the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles, yet a completely different world. Like taking a step back in time to a simpler way of life.

As a kid I was able to grow up slow and spent my days immersed in nature. Whether I was out hiking endless trails, running through the mountains in my backyard, or playing in the surf at a beach on the backside of the island, an active lifestyle outdoors was the foundation of my youth.

I was young when I came to understand that all things in the world are connected, that the great outdoors was also a great teacher, and that there was beauty and a lesson to be found in everything.

These childhood adventures and exploration of the land and sea around me have evolved into the lifestyle I live today.

Nature is my playground, my gym, my sanctum, my greatest inspiration. It has sparked, lit, and been the fire behind many of my endeavors including my success as an elite multi sport and adventure athlete, the joy I find in creating delicious, sustainable food to nourish and fuel my adventures, the sense of stewardship within my heart for protecting our environment, and my passion for sharing my love of health, fitness, nutrition, and nature with others.

As an Integrative Nutrition certified health coach and ACE certified personal trainer, I am passionate about helping others achieve optimized health and happiness so that they too, can experience all that life has to offer. My goal as your coach is to help you navigate back to simplicity with nature and your own intuition as your guide.

From there, whether you are looking to compete in Iron Man, climb that mountain thats been on your bucket list, or simply obtain life long physical fitness, we will get clear on your goals and take the steps to make them happen. Programing is 100% individualized and tailored to you, your needs, and your goals. My tool box is extensive and if your mind is open, together we can go far.
